Habaqa / About
An investment firm built this, and here is why.
Habaqa is made by Promoat Capital Ltd, registered in Nigeria. We back Nigerian small businesses. We kept meeting good ones we could not evaluate, because the records were in a notebook, so we built the app that keeps them.
What we charge, and what we do not
We do not charge businesses for the tools, take equity for them, or take a monthly fee. Payment processing has its own fees, if a business chooses to take payments online, and they are shown before it turns that on. The rest comes from the other side of the register: investors pay a monthly subscription for access.
The better Nigerian businesses run, the more likely we are to meet one worth backing, and the more there is for an investor to read. What is free today stays free.
What we will not do
Hold your money
Customers pay into your own bank account. We record the payment, we never sit in the middle.
Sell what is yours
Investors pay for access to the register, not for your numbers. Nothing about your business opens until you accept a specific investor, and you can close it again.
Take a cut of a deal
No success fee, no carry. If you raise money here, the terms are between you and the investor.
Promise what we have not built
If something is coming, we say coming. If a date is not certain, we do not give one.
Who we are
Habaqa is built and run by the team at Promoat Capital Ltd, an investment firm registered in Nigeria. The same team reads every investor application and every grant application.
